This machine was made in 1971 by Olympia, a German manufacturer known for making high-quality typewriters. The design heritage of this model stretches back to 1956. The previous-model Splendid 33 was replaced in 1970 by the Olympia Traveller, which continued the line in a more modern format.
Featuring a 44-character keyboard with a pleasant touch, this machine also has a fold-up paper rest. A nice feature is the 'anti-clash' key which allows the typist to disentangle clashed typebars without having to get ink on their fingers ! Having been obviously cared for by a previous owner, the casing is practically unmarked. Replacement ribbons are still readily available for this model.
